You’ve been wanting to move your business to the web…without spending a fortune….here’s your chance (I already bought baycefook.com though right after I watched, so you can’t have that one). More from Quiet Library at QuietLibrary.com.
From what I gather, there were two things going on in the 60s: the hippie movement and jet pack research. Hippies managed to live on through the present day in slightly different forms, but jet pack research halted altogether, and I’m not really sure why. Maybe there was no practical use for them, but that didn’t stop those ridiculously useless Segway things from hitting the mass market. Maybe if this internet thing doesn’t catch on, it’ll free up some time and we’ll start looking seriously at the benefits of jet packs again.
So Michael Phelps might be the greatest swimmer in history or whatever, but I highly doubt he has a rap song written for him. That’s where Brendan Hansen one-ups him. The breaststroker from Pennsylvania is coming home from Beijing with a single gold medal, but he’s also coming home with his own song playing on his iPod on repeat. Havertown, PA, what WHAT!
It’s true. It’s on La Brea at CatchLight Studios. We’re fine with this since piers are usually just havens for bird poop and abandoned fish hooks. So come check it out on Thursday, August 28 at 7:00 pm. You won’t even need a tetanus shot.
You still have about a week to submit your best non-human video, so get on it! RSVP info and funnier post here.
Everyone’s favorite slacker, Janeane Garofalo, tries out Carrotvision today. What is she up to? It’s kind of hard to tell since Buns and Chou Chou dominate most of the conversation, but at least we now know that Chou’s favorite food is Purina rabbit chow imported straight from the 80s.
